ABSTRACT

membranosa-entre (NBP)

The presentation will be organized as a commentary based on the works which compose the installation membranosa-entre (NBP), exhibited in 2009. In this project, it is possible to locate the main topics that I have been working with throughout the last years, which delineate my practice: the relationship between words and images; the construction of elements in architectonic scale that establish a direct contact with the spectator’s body; the image of the artist beyond the mere producer of artworks. Also, the work points towards certain discussions related to conceptualism and experimentalism, in terms of an investigation of the limits of contemporary art in the frame of the XXI century’s new economy of culture. One important element of such investigation is the notion of “organic line”, proposed by Lygia Clark in 1954; it is reaccessed here as “membrane”, structure for mediation and contact production.
